HEAVEN’S GATE

HEAVEN’S GATE, a wall object created from porcelain circles in both high-gloss and matte finishes, accented with real gold and paired with brass rings, was developed around the theme of the four elements. We designed the piece as a fireplace artwork for the Presidential Suite of the Fairmont Hotel Four Seasons Hamburg.

At the heart of this work lies the playful use of contrasting porcelain surfaces. Transparent glossy glaze and matte, finely polished bisque alternate with hand-painted real gold details and patterns. The porcelain elements are mounted directly onto the wall at varying heights.
